"Our Homework Log" (Japanese name: "うちの宿題"; the "App") is an app for keeping track of homework plans and progress at home.
The App does not collect users' personal information. This policy explains the information the App handles and how it is handled.
1. Information the developer collects
None. The App does not collect any personal information, such as your name, email address, phone number,
location, or contacts. It does not analyze how you use it (no access analytics, activity logs, or the like) either.
The App never sends data to the developer's servers (the developer does not run any servers).
How emails that you choose to send us are handled is described in section 5.
2. Information the App stores and where
The following information you enter in the App is stored on your device.
Homework details (workbook name, page range, date assigned, due date) and progress
Subject settings (name, color, order)
Children's display names (when you use separate profiles for more than one child; nicknames are fine)
If you uninstall the App, this data on your device is deleted.
3. Cloud sync (optional feature)
The App has a cloud sync feature for sharing the same records across your family's devices.
With this feature, you choose one file that you placed yourself in a cloud service such as Google Drive or Dropbox,
using your device's standard file picker, and the App reads and writes that file.
Sync takes place only between the App and the cloud service you use. The developer never receives its contents.
In addition to the records in section 2, the sync file stores a code that identifies each device, and the device name,
to manage "Devices in use". These are used to count your family's devices, and device names can be changed or removed in the App.
This information is not sent to the developer either.
This code that identifies each device is a value calculated only for the App from an identifier your device already has.
The original identifier cannot be recovered from it, and it never matches a value used by other apps.
On the same device, the code stays the same even if you reinstall the App (so that the device is not
registered twice in "Devices in use" each time you reinstall, using up your family's device slots).
This code cannot be used to identify you personally.
If you don't use cloud sync, your records stay entirely on your device.
You can delete the sync file yourself in the cloud service you use.
Data stored in a cloud service is handled according to that service's terms of use and privacy policy.
4. In-app purchases
The App offers additional features as a one-time purchase (Premium Pack).
Purchases and payments are handled by Google Play (App Store for the iOS version), and
the developer never receives payment information such as credit card numbers.
The App only asks the store whether the item has been purchased, and does not store any information that identifies the buyer.
5. Support features (how-to page, email feedback, store ratings)
"Support" in Settings has the following features. Each one works only when you use it; the App never sends information automatically.
How to use: Opens a how-to page in your device's browser. When the App is set to Japanese, this is an introductory article on note;
in other languages, it is this App's support page on this website, in that language. Information about your visit to these pages is handled according to the privacy policy
of each site (note, or GitHub, which hosts this website).
Feedback / report a problem (email): Creates a draft email to the developer in your device's email app.
The body contains only the app version and the OS version; your homework records are not included.
You decide whether to send it, and you can check and edit the content before sending.
Emails you send us (including your email address) are used only to reply to you and to look into problems, and are never provided to third parties.
Store ratings: Opens the ratings and reviews screen of Google Play (App Store for the iOS version).
Depending on how you use the App, it may also show the rating request provided by the OS (Google Play In-App Review / App Store rating request).
To decide whether to show it, the App uses only the number of launches and the dates recorded on your device, and whether homework has been finished; none of this is sent to the developer.
Ratings and reviews are received by each store and handled according to that store's terms.
6. Ads and third parties
The App does not show ads. It does not include any SDKs from ad networks or analytics companies.
We never provide, share, or sell users' information to third parties.
7. Device permissions
The App itself does not request permissions such as camera, location, contacts, or storage.
In-app purchases use the system of the store you use (Google Play / App Store).
The Android version includes the "internet access" and "view network status"
permissions that this system needs. They are used to check purchases and to run cloud sync,
and never to send the contents of your records to anyone else.
8. Children's privacy
The App does not collect personal information from any user, including children.
Children's display names are stored only on the device (and, if you use cloud sync, in your own cloud file).
You can also use nicknames instead of real names.
9. Exporting and deleting data
You can save your records as a JSON file from the App's Settings and import them on another device.
You choose where the saved file goes and who it is shared with.
Data on the device is deleted when you uninstall the App, and the cloud sync file can be deleted in each cloud service.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be changed as needed. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page.
